WE ARE A GREAT LAKES AIR PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTOR IN ARIZONA

Compressed air is versatile, clean and convenient energy that is ideal for most instrument, industrial, and commercial applications. In order to really optimize compressed air systems, the moisture as well as contaminants that are naturally concentrated in the compression cycle are removed to avoid equipment failure, distribution system breakdowns and product contamination.

During the compression cycle, air is drawn into a compressor where the gas volume is reduced in order to create pressure. Any aerosols, vapors, or solids introduced to the compression cycle will be concentrated by a direct discharge in the pressure of the system. It is during this compression cycle that will produce saturated compressed air that has excess liquid and particulate contaminants during discharge. Filtration will be able to remove the liquid water as well as a contamination but the humidity will need to be removed with a compressed air dryer. Compressed air dryers will suppress the dew-point which enables separation to remove the liquid from the system. When you remove the moisture, productivity and efficiency can then be added to compressed air systems.

  • Dry compressed air will reduce distribution system corrosion that increases pressure drops and even operational costs, cause leaks, require premature replacement and generate pipe scale.
  • Dry compressed air also keeps lubricants from being washed away by air tools, air motors, cylinders, as well as valves that extend the life of the product and reduce maintenance requirements.
  • Dry compressed air will also reduce product contamination in applications like cooling, mixing, agitation, conveying, or product blow down.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING!

ERF SERIES AIR DRYER OPERATION

ERF Series Air Dryers will take hot saturated compressed air into an air cooled heat exchanger, where it will cool the air and then a water separator removes condensed liquid. The air will then enter the air exchanger where it is precooled by air that is discharged by the air refrigeration exchanger. The final cooling is done in the air refrigerant exchanger where it is cooled more to the specific dew-point and additional moisture is separated from the air stream. The dry air will enter the air-air exchanger where it will act as a cooling point for the precooling stage. It will also reheat the discharged air to help prevent compressed air piping from sweating and increases the volume.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

With a 5-Year Warranty, the ERF Series refrigerated air dryer is made from the highest quality standards. In order to really express this type of quality, we have a 5-year warranty on our products. This warranty covers the entire dryer for 5 years and excludes drain maintenance. Most other warranties will only cover certain parts or charge for replacement. With our continuous improvement on quality, as well as engineering improvements that come with newer technology, you can be assured that we will provide you with a quality product for years. For more information on the warranty coverage as well as requirements, consult the ERF warranty booklet.

ENVIRONMENTAL REFRIGERANTS

We only use eco-friendly EPA approved refrigerants, the ERF series dryers that have fractional HP refrigeration compressors use HRF-R134A refrigerant. The larger systems will use HCFC-R22 that is commercially available until 2020. Optional refrigerant types are available.

MADE IN THE USA

All of our compressed air dryers are manufactured in Detroit, Michigan. We offer a stream of reasonably priced high quality industrial products that have been proven to have great performance. We have readily available replacement parts and maintenance items that are available through the distribution system, or through our wholesale refrigeration supply houses. You should base your purchase on the durability and quality of American made products.

LOW PRESSURE DROPS

ERF Series compressed air dryers are made for ultra-low pressure drops that range between 3.2-1.2 PSID. Other products can give pressure drops of 6.5PSID. Additional pressure can be dropped by increasing the operating cost of the dryer. Every PSI that is raised will raise the horsepower by 0.5% If you need to raise the discharge pressure to 3 PSI to overcome pressure drop, then 1.5% additional HP will be needed. This is assuming that the you are operating a 25 HP compressor that has an average cost of $.0.06 kwH. Simply by adding 3 PSI will increase the annual cost by $147.

SMART DESIGN SOLENOID DRAIN

We will only use diaphragm solenoid valves for the electronic timed condensate drains. These valves help to keep the main stream of contaminants away from the internal piston. If any contaminants fouls and the restricts the piston, the valve will fail. These valves have larger surfaces and flow paths than the standard valve. A large surface with a strainer helps to eliminate clogging in the drain valve.

Our quality begins with industrial design, then integrated it with high quality parts, and lastly manufactured under strict guidelines with only the highest standards. Then this product is backed by the 5-year warranty.

  • SS Thermostatic expansion valve that will modulate the refrigerant flow to match our system requirements in various temperatures as well as compressed air loads. The capillary tube system is used by other companies will decrease or increase the flow of refrigerant with no regard for the system load. High temperatures or clogged condensers can increase refrigerant flow which isn’t balanced. Operation under these types of conditions can cause compressor failure.
  • ERF Series dryers happen to use electronic solenoid drains that have isolation valves and strainers. This makes maintenance easier while it protects the drain system from failure. This is added on to the diaphragm solenoid valve.
  • ERF series dryers come with full service refrigeration valves for both the discharge and suction systems. These are the valves that will simplify field service or maintenance as well as reducing the cost of refrigerant loss.
  • SS panel mounted gauges that have coiled vibration eliminators and braised connections will remove the possibility of a leak from leak points in other dryers.
  • We only use suction accumulators to help remove the possibility of liquid return to the compressor that could cause compressor failure.

OPTIONAL DIGITAL SENSOR MONITOR

Our ERF series dryer models are available with an option digital system monitor. This will monitor the air inlet temperature, outlet temperature, dew-point temperature, and ambient temperature. The unit comes with a 4-20 ma output for remote system monitoring or data logging. This monitor isn’t a controller and isn’t part of the dryer operation. The monitor just eliminates the possibility of dryer shut-downs due to electronic failure.
